3d milling

3d milling

3d milling

(OP)
I'm trying to generate a 3-d mill prog. and working from an IGES file imported into Surfcam that has the 3-d drwg. of the block with the pocket in it.
In the NC operations manager box I get a white circle next to my operation in the NC operations tree.
In my tutorial I'm told this white circle "indicates that the operation does not support the associativity properties.
The operation is not a pocket, contour or face mill operation".
Has anyone else run into this? What can I do to correct it?

RE: 3d milling

What version are you using?  The version I'm using (SC2004) only has yellow, red or green.  I seem to recall earlier versions did not support 3D associative tool paths, only 2D, and the 3D may have been displayed with a white circle.  In other words, all 3D tool paths were not linked to the geometry, they are in the current versions.  Hope this makes sense.

BTW, have you heard that Solidworks PDO (does not include assemblies and drawings) will be included with SC2005 due next month.
