Propane/butane resistivity
Propane/butane resistivity
(OP)
I would appreciate if someone could indicate me where can I find values for resistivity (or the inverse electrical conductivity) of propane and butane.
Thank you in advance

RE: Propane/butane resistivity
Did happen to find this link to Rosemount level controls that had a handbook of Conductance Data For Commonly Used Chemicals that might be of limited use.
http:/
Though the above reference includes pentane, hexane, heptane and nonane, it did not have propane or butane. Also, the Rosemount handbook indicates data taken from Langes chemistry handbook so I checked a copy of Langes (15th edition) and the data seems to match but again with no data for propane or butane.
Also found there is an ASTM standard for measuring electrical conductivity of liquid hydrocarbons (ASTM D4308). For example, look at this link indicating properties for hexane...

Maybe one of the other forum members has the data your looking for but other than performing the test yourself or having an outside lab perform the test, you may want to contact a level controls supplier to see if you can find one that has data for propane and/or butane that might be willing to share with you.
