Desmodromic Engine

Has there been any more work on the Desmodromic engine?  The Ducati and the JAP bike engines proved it would work.  I once saw a lab engine with the desmo valve setup and it was eerie how easy the engine turned over when there was no valve friction on the camshaft.

Franzh,

If you have not done so, you should visit:

I am not sure that I see a big future for desmo; VVA and camless is where the future lies.

I agree about camless valve actuation, I have seen a few engines operate and are quite production capable.  No throttle, docile idle, unreal power response (imagine swapping camshafts while driving!)
I read an article about the Desmo several years ago and was wondering about the state of the art.  It was quite unique.
