I am installing an automated isolation valve to protect a sulfuric acid control valve (after isolation valve) from deteriorating by acting as an isolation valve as well as a pH control valve.  Before I automate a handvalve, what things do I need to consider in programming or design of that valve.  I have heard some concerns with trapping sulfuric acid in between two valves and causing damage to piping due to the high thermal expansion coefficient of 93% sulfuric acid.  Thanks for your input.

formation of hydrogen, which is formed when handling sulfuric acid in steel piping. Vent piping may be Schedule 40 PVC."
