(OP)
Can anyone give me some guidance on performing a "site specific geotechnical investigation and dynamic site response analyses" as referenced in the IBC 2003 Code.

What types of field investigation would one tpyically perform and what types of analyses are required?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

RE: Evaluation of Type F soils per IBC 2003

SS - Can you clarify your question? Are you saying that you have a site class F or that you want to determine the site class?

To determine the site class, the easiest procedure is to have the drillers take spt's every 5 feet to a depth of 100 feet or after 3 spoons of 100 bpf or auger refusal. The N(bar) value can then be calc'd to give you your site class.

A site class of F has been rare in my experience.
