(OP)
Can anyone give me some guidance on performing a "site specific geotechnical investigation and dynamic site response analyses" as referenced in the IBC 2003 Code.

What types of field investigation would one tpyically perform and what types of analyses are required?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

RE: Evaluation of Type F soils per IBC 2003

How was the site class determined in the first place? A shear wave velocity profile analysis appears to be a good approach. In most cases the site class can be improved by actually determining the average shear wave velocity in the upper 30 meters of the overburden rather than relying on SPT data or unconfined compressive strength. Seismic cone and other methods are available to determine the shear wave velocity profile.
