Does anyone use floworks, are there any good books worth purchasing ?

RE: FloWorks Help ?

Are you using the module within SW 05?  If so, have you checked the help files and the "what's new" section?  I think those items would walk you through the basics to get started.

RE: FloWorks Help ?

I have not used it. We have one Engineer that uses it, a prereq for a military project with a major aerospace co. I have not seen any books. You may check with your VAR. Good luck.

RE: FloWorks Help ?

The program is pretty simple to use if you already know CFD. If you don't know CFD you might consider taking a class in thermodynamics and fluid flow. CFD is more difficult than FEA because of the necessity to know or estimate a lot more material properties that are not always as easy to measure or obtain as something like Ftu is for FEA. There is also a newsgroup for CFD problems.

Thanks for all your help guys.

RE: FloWorks Help ?

We have been using cosmosfloworks2004 for 2~3 month.
So my suggestion maybe useful or maybe not.
Cosmosfloworks is a design based CFD software , so you can't get exact solution from it . It just solve problems with some considerations and this will result a good rough estimation.

We are using the cosmosfloworks to analyse the manifold systems in a diesel engine to solve the air and smoke path and some othe parameters such as temp, pressure , ...
But it seems cosmosfloworks hasn't enough B.C. to define the real conditions.

We are going to compare cosmofloworks and fluent in our field to choose one for next analysis. And our teamwork will solving similar problems in both and comparing the results .
