Vary Sketch Tool in 2005 SP0.1

Vary Sketch Tool in 2005 SP0.1

(OP)
Hello All,

I was wondering if there is a bug in the vary sketch tool in 2005. I did just like the SW Help had discussed and I cannot get it to pattern correctly. When I use the vary sketch it leaves me with the outside frame of my part. It does not give me the rib effect that is shown in SW help.  My cut-extrude is .1 wide and the offset for the pattern is .5 so the offset distance is not the problem. Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

If you look in SW help for "Vary Sketch" they have a basic triangle example which I am trying to repeat.

Best Regards,
Jon

Make sure you're selecting the dimension (the one which specifies the gap between you're cut-extrude sketch and the model edge) instead of the base feature edge, for direction 1.

Also you need to make sure that the inclined sketch segment in your cut-extrude sketch is parallel and dimensioned to the top inclined edge of the base feature.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
