catia v4 & v5

catia v4 & v5

(OP)
I am running catia v4 on unix system, wanted to install catia v5 on same system.
Do you think its worth to do ?
How could I run the V4 & V5 on same system as v4 is unix based while v5 is windows base?

RE: catia v4 & v5

V5 is also Unix based, when shipped it comes with the disks for the various Unix platforms.

RE: catia v4 & v5

It is entirely possible to install v5 CATIA on a UNIX machine that is currently running v4.  You can actually run the programs at the same time and minimize each program as needed.  It is definitely worth it if you need or wish to be working with CATIA v5 in the future.  If your machine is older, you might have a little more trouble running v5 because it seems like it uses much more system resources, but there is no difference in the performance on Windows or UNIX.  The company I work for (a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier) and the company we supply both use v4 and v5 simultaneously on their workstations in UNIX.
