Tilt-Up Connection for Expansive Soils

Tilt-Up Connection for Expansive Soils

Tilt-Up Connection for Expansive Soils

(OP)
How would someone hand the connection at the base for a tilt-up wall panel system for an expansive soil condition that could possibly heave the floor system?  Would you still connect the panel to the slab or primarily rely on a connection to the foundation or none of the above?

TIA,

mp

RE: Tilt-Up Connection for Expansive Soils

San Antonio, Texas - high expansive clays....tilt up project we did where we did not attach the slab - slab was expected to heave a bit - in fact, interior walls connecting to exterior walls were designed with slip connections.
