upgrade/convert vault data

upgrade/convert vault data

upgrade/convert vault data

(OP)
We have recently started using Solidworks 2005 in conjunction with an existing PDMWorks 2005 vault which contains data from Solidworks 2004.  Upon retrieval of some items in the vault we are getting (expectedly) a message saying that some of the parts will be converted upon saving.  Many of the parts that are currently in our vault will be retrieved with read-only status, which will prevent the conversion from happening.  Is there a method to convert data in the vault without having to check out/check in?

I know we can continue to use the vault data as it currently exists - this is a question of convenience more than anything.

Thanks,
Dave Gowans

RE: upgrade/convert vault data

The PDM Admin can update the vault.

OK, how do I go about it?

RE: upgrade/convert vault data

You can use SolidWorks Task Scheduler to do this. Use the next to bottom option "Update PDMWorks files". You need admin permissions in PDM.
