Saving Print settings in 2005LT?

Saving Print settings in 2005LT?

Saving Print settings in 2005LT?

(OP)
OK, here's my dilemma....I have literally THOUSANDS of drawings I created at my job in AutoCAD 14. We don't have enough licenses for CAD14, so we are now "upgraded" to LT2005... that's fine with me, I just need to do simple 2D drawings.

So, I open a previously made 14 drawing no problem. I create a new plot style table, making all colors default to black (we draw in yellow and whatnot, needs to be visible when plotted in B&W). We "plot" on 8.5x11, on an HP laser printer.

I create a new page setup file, I get my drawing to center, print on extents, etc etc. I set it as the default. Plots perfectly.

The problem comes in when I open another R14 drawn print - all my page setup information is gone. The only way to get it to print the same is to manually select the "previous plot" option.

My question is: How can I get LT2005 to use these defaults ALL the time? I don't want to have to either redo them each time I want to print a R14 drawing for the first time in 2005, nor do I really want to have to save a settings file and load it each time I print for the first time (if you can even do that).

TIA!

RE: Saving Print settings in 2005LT?

I don't have a solution for you, but I have the same gripe as spclk1981.  Unlike spclk, I plot almost always on Arch D, Extents, centered, 1:1 from PS, landscape, grayscale, monocrome.  In short 95% of my plots are done the exact same way.

R14 .pcp and .pc2 used to be so easy to use AND the plot command would open defaulted to your last selection.  Now, in the "new" and "upgraded" .pc3, plot always starts with the "None" under device.  Plus, I can't get my paper size setting to hold at all, even if I select a paper size and Preview, it goes back to 8.5 x 11 after the preview, which is silly, because the .pc3 file is for a standard HP plotter.

Sorry, just venting...any help?

I am not sure about LT but under the options of AutoCAD, you can select under the Plotting Tab a box which defaults to last successful plot settings. IHTH
