satellite reciever detection

(OP)
I'm working on a project that would detect the presence of a satellite recieving device.  Does this sound feasible?

RE: satellite reciever detection

Well, I suppose you could use a yagi and a spectrum analyser to try and pick up the recievers local oscillators, but you'd have to be in the same room, or right next to the antenna to pick up any stray receiver signals.

Now if you were talking satellite transmitting device, like a Inmarsat or Thuraya handset for example... yes.
