Help using electrical conduit bracket material on vessel?

We currently have a design request to use electrical conduit c shaped clips welded to the outside of vessel shell to attach copper tubing spiraled around OD to warm the vessel. The copper tubing is removable if damaged. Has anyone done something similar and/or used bracket material with a C of C? Thanks in advance.

The copper tubing is not an issue, right? As I see it only the welding of the clips to the shell/head would be. As they are non-pressure retaining parts, I'd take a very close look at UG-4(b) and UW-5(b).
From UG-4(b): "Material for nonpressure parts, such as... clips... need not conform to the specifications for the material to which they are attached or to a material specification permitted in this Division..."

The clips were added the at the same time as the insulation clips, if used,and were generally the same material.
We never allowed galvanized anything to be welded to a process vessel or tank. We used SS hooks and clips on all vessels, except AL, CU, and Ti.
All clips/attachments were spot welded or SMAW.
All tubing was bonded to the tank/vessel with Thermon if we were within it's temperature limit.
There has been only a few occasions where there was some question of replacing a failed clip. There had to be a hard and fast metallurgical concern about the MOC that would prevent replacement.
