Safety Relief Valve Venting

Safety Relief Valve Venting

Safety Relief Valve Venting

(OP)
I am looking for a design guide for venting two safety relief valves into one common vent pipe.  If you know where to look please let me know.

RE: Safety Relief Valve Venting

See if API 520 Part II helps.  The title is Sizing, Selection, and Installation of Pressure-Relieving Devices in
Refineries

Part II—Installation

I think that the current edition is API RECOMMENDED PRACTICE 520 FIFTH EDITION, AUGUST 2003.

RE: Safety Relief Valve Venting

WLC1,

You may also want to look at API RP-521, GUIDE FOR PRESSURE-RELIEVING AND DEPRESSURING SYSTEM.  Refer to their sections 4 and 5 covering disposal systems (atmospheric, flare, etc.)

Another good all-around reference for relief systems is "Guidelines for Pressure Relief and Effluent Handling Systems" which is an AICHE, CCPS publication.

RE: Safety Relief Valve Venting

Hello,

Please ref to API's are as follows:

RP 520, RP 521, API Standard 526, 527 & 2000.

Regards,
Marlon
