INSERT SKETCH QUESTION

INSERT SKETCH QUESTION

INSERT SKETCH QUESTION

(OP)
when I have an outline to be used as a template to trace around, I use the "insert sketch" command. I bring this template into a new sketch. When the template is first brought in I can resize it by using the corner handles and I can move it around to place it where I want. However once the sketch is then closed.... or if I introduce another element into that sketch... I can no longer resize the template sketch or even move it. it gets locked in place. Is there a way to "reactivate" the template so it can be moved or resized... or do you have to make sure all is where it should be before closing out of that sketch from which you placed the template.

Thanks for the help.

Also.... enjoyed meeting some of you in Orlando.... I thought the conference was great.. well planned and well thought out.

Regards,
John

Actually the command used to insert the sketch is the "sketch picture" command on the sketch toolbar.  My mistake.

RE: INSERT SKETCH QUESTION

I believe you can use the Modify Sketch button while in the sketch to do what you need.  (I normally use it for items other than inserted images, so I'm not sure.)

Go to Tools, Sketch Tools, Modify if you don't have the button displayed (button looks like a +/- icon with an arrow over it).  Handy tool for quick scaling or rotating of geometry, such as vector-drawn logos, etc. like you're trying to make from the sketch.

thanks for the reply Jeff.... I did try  the Modify command... at least I wanted to try it...but it's not highlighted for use in that sketch (the sketch that contains the template).

RE: INSERT SKETCH QUESTION

If you double click on the Sketch picture a dialogue box should open, allowing resizing & moving of the picture/sketch.

& all the best.
