OEM starter?

OEM starter?

OEM starter?

(OP)
Anyone ever heard of an OEM Starter for your typical carb 350ci motor being heavy in the back, so the starter gear and flexplate can't be shimmed properly because they don't match up in a 90 degree angle more like a 95 degree angle?  If so, any suggestions?    Ive heard of a starter bracket to hold up the back end.

RE: OEM starter?

On a SBC, the back bracket certainly helps, as does the correct bolts with the knurled shank, and a good quality nose cone with correct sized mounting bolt holes and a good true machined surface where it snugs up to the block.
