Does any body know how to implement login password in a PanelView 550 HMI connected to an SLC-500 ?

I have tried using numerical keyboard entry objects, since the PV 550 does not have specific login objects like the PV 1000. However, at the moment the operator will enter the numbers, they are vissible in the screen and if anyone is eavesdropping then the password is no longer secret.

Any sugestions will be greatly appreciated.

Robert.

RE: Login password in PanelView 550

Will selecting the 'Mask Password Entry' checkbox on the security settings work?  Just a thought.

Thanks marshg for steering me in the right direction !!!

After I went looking for the 'Mask password entry' checkbox, I realized I didn't have a 'security' tab in the 'application' menu.

Some detective work after, I found the terminal firmware version (2.01) was simply too old and didn't have such a thing as security password embedded, contrary to the 4.10 version in the new PV-550.

So I updated the firmware in the HMI and voilá, problem solved.

A thousand thanks again for your help...

Robert.
