V4 details conversion to V5 Catalog part problem.

V4 details conversion to V5 Catalog part problem.

V4 details conversion to V5 Catalog part problem.

(OP)
I have a library of Catia V4 "details" that I would like to turn into a library of V5 "Catalog" parts.  Because I don't have to modify this parts, I have been doing a "paste result" for my V4 to V5 conversion.

My issue is that when I go to create a catalog part, I don't have anyway of selecting my insertion point or orientation axis.  I do have an axis that I would like to use, but because it is not related to the part in anyway I don't have any options for my "inputs of components."

What am I missing?  Any ideas out there?

RE: V4 details conversion to V5 Catalog part problem.

Insertion point is the parts 0,0,0 coordinate, and your orientation is perormed on the fly when you instanciate and constrain the part in the product.

PS there is a script provided by DS for batch conversion of V4 Libraries.  Look in the on-line documentation.  You will need to modify it for path names and library names, but it works pretty well.
