Insering AutoCAD info into SolidWorks
Insering AutoCAD info into SolidWorks
(OP)
I design printed circuit boards in solidworks, but all information about component locations is in autocad (dxf, dwg). Inserting aoutocad as an object makes solidworks inoperable- to many sketch elements.
Is there any sane way to transfer this info?
Any suggestion will be appresiated. Currently I have to recreate component locations in solidworks manually.
Thank you.
Boris

File
Open
select Files of type
select file
select Import to part
Next
select settings required
Finish
You should now have the dwg elements in a SW sketch, which can be manipulated using normal SW practices.

2) Minimise the Acad file by deleting everything except what is needed to be opened in the SW sketch.
3) Check your Virtual Memory settings. http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.php
4) Get more RAM.
