Partially fixed edge plate

Partially fixed edge plate

Partially fixed edge plate

(OP)
I am using NENastran Version 8.3
Pinned edge and fixed edge plate problems can be solved directly. How to solve problem with partially fixed edge say 50 % for example.
Please help and thanks.

In my experience your problem must be solved trough iterations. This is due to that 50% partially fixed is not completely clear in stiffness terms, only in force terms.

Fixed means that the support stiffness is infinite, 50 % of infinite is ???, it doesn't compute.

If you instead work with springs you can create the support conditions you want to simulate fairly simple.
