Weld design FEA how?

Weld design FEA how?

Weld design FEA how?

(OP)
I've been frustrated lately.   I'm trying to do a FEA on a welded assembly.   I cannot seem to get it to run.   The welded part only has about 1/2 the length welded.   I tried using line analysis, but it goes along the entire surface and gives me an error.   I tried using the welding package to put the welds in, but it won't even mesh.   How do you do it?

RE: Weld design FEA how?

Try extracting the edge, then split the extract to the desired welded length, then when creating the Line Analysis pick the split.  Finally, create the Seam Weld connection property on the Line Analysis.
