How to define hot water and heat pump in HAP?

In the program, when i simulate HEAT PUMP energy, it gave me 0
BTU in winter time. And it reminds me i have no hot water source.

Who can tell me how to solve it?

RE: How to link hot water to Heat pump in Carrier HAP?

When your system is described as a water source heat pump.  Refer to the equipment tab when modifying your system.  You can edit the miscellaneous equipment and there input a cooling tower and auxiliary boiler for your system.

Also make sure that you have input your schedules for energy modelling correctly.

The model may be such that there are enough internal heat gains to offset some of the required heat input into the system.  (i.e. good envelope, lots of people during the occupied hours.)  Check your lights and schedules to ensure the lights and people are not heating your space when it is supposed to be unoccupied.

Thanks!

Do i need cooling tower and auxiliary boiler for heat pump?

Maybe this is the problem that i met.

Thank you!

You will need both.  The system should be able to size them for you.  The cooling tower (or fluid cooler) rejects heat when the system is generally in cooling mode and the boiler is required when there is a requirement for overall heating.
