Layer Toolbar Settings

I've been using the Layer Toolbar to change layers, or to find the layer of a line.  Pretty simple really.  All I do is "click" the line in question, and the lines layer shows up in the layer toolbar.  If I want to change the layer, all I do is use the toolbar to select another layer.  I've been doing it for years.  Today, I froze up AutoCAD somehow.  No big deal, I just restarted.  However, now for some reason the layer toolbar isn't working.  It will let me change layers for drawing new objects, but I have to go to properties to see the layer of an object that I have currently selected.  I can also change the layer from the properties menu.  Does anybody have any idea of what happened.  I temporarily lost my right click pop-up menu, but I seem to have gotten it working again.  I have tried just restarting my computer, but this has made no difference.

Thanks

Look at your PICKFIRST variable. Should be 1
