Anybody seen this error before?

SMARTEAM://_STFILE_\\network path to file

The trick is, the files that are labeled as not being there are actually there and named correctly, plus, we don't have Smarteam implemented.  Any ideas would be welcome.

RE: Link error messages

Did you double-click on the file when you start up CATIA ? I remember that if I just double-click on the .CATpart file I couldn't get to find the file, however it worked fine by opening CATIA, then open the file accordingly. Just thought that you might want to try.

Thanks for the idea chryso but I've already tried.  We have startup scripts that do not get applied when a user double-clicks on the .CATX files, if they do the app complains about a lot of stuff, so we've gotten our users in the habit of having catia open before they load projects.

Thanks for the idea, any more?

RE: Link error messages

If CATIA is already running (via your startup scripts), then try double-clicking on the part.  It should open up in the already running CATIA session.

Another thought: what are the file names?  I have seen this type of error (although our CATIA squawks about VPM, which we do have) when there is a comma present in the file name.

RE: Link error messages

This sounds similar to the problem I had a few months back.
I was trying varous settings in Document Environments area
in Tools - Options - General - Document - Linked Document Localization window.
We don't have Smarteam either, so I DEACTIVATED PDM Reconciliator, Catalog & Startup, Smartteam and ENOVIA VPM options. (Seems to help larger assembly models to open quicker)
I then opened an Assembly model (Product), and all the Part models inside the Assembly were not loaded and I got a similar error to yours.
I then went back to the Document settings and ACTIVATED
the previous settings, re-opened the Assembly model and
all the Parts were there and had no error.
Hope this helps,
Jakey
