Inserting a screw

Inserting a screw

Inserting a screw

(OP)
I am currently working on creating a bench vise and i need help assembling and presenting the product.  I have a threaded part(such as a screw) and i am wanting to insert it into a threaded hole. While doing this i would like the screw to be inserted simultaneously to rotating with the thread.

RE: Inserting a screw

try using contact set with the 2 parts,  put an angular constraint on the screw and drive it.  dont know if it will work but worth a try

RE: Inserting a screw

Hi, I've done just the thing you're talking about.  If I find the presentation I have, I'll send it to you if you like.  As gib2j said, drive constraints here but don't be too fussy.  The screw has a certain pitch so you know exactly how many turns of the handle is required compared to the desired linear movement of the vice.  The tweeks for the presentation, if done correctly will simulate what you want.
