Redefining Block with AutoLisp

Redefining Block with AutoLisp

Redefining Block with AutoLisp

(OP)
How can I use Autolisp do a block replace (redefine). I am running AutoCAD 2002.

Here's what I want to do. Pick a block (check to see if it is a block) then reinstall the block to redefine it.

I am not very fluent in AutoLisp. So, I am not sure if it can be done. How would the program reinsert the block without using the block reference that is already present?

Thanks

RE: Redefining Block with AutoLisp

I think you are looking for a command like this:

INSERT BlockName=FileName" "Y" "0,0" "1" "1"

When you insert a drawing with the same name as an existing block, it asks you if you want to redefine the block.  You respond Yes, then give the insertion point and scale factors.
