RE: block refrences itself

It sounds like the block has the same name as the drawing your trying to insert into.  Rename the block and all should be fine.

the block is called dh and thedrwaing is a number

RE: block refrences itself

Try 'purge' and make sure you purge e'thing

RE: block refrences itself

Does the block DH contain another block that might be the same as number as your drawing?

RE: block refrences itself

A block can have some very strange attributes of which an ACAD user may be unaware, especially if you weren't the one who created it in the first place.  I've been interested in creating blocks with attributes, but haven't had much success with getting legible instructions (that is, instructions in plain English that assume I'm not a computer whiz, which I'm not).  It's really frustrating to work with a block which turns out to have several blocks within it, each of which also is made up of other blocks.  It does get circular!  (Or perhaps dizzying ... )
