Multi-jog leader

Multi-jog leader

Multi-jog leader

(OP)
Has anyone figured out how to add text to a multi-jog leader or attach a multi-jog leader to a note cleanly? if I attach one to a note that has a leader, the leaders do not line up. I think it is a bug. VAR does not know.
thanks

RE: Multi-jog leader

I am un-clear of what you want to do.

Do you want to add a note that has a multi-jog leader pointing to two seperate items.

or are you trying to add a multi-jog leader to point to a note that has a leader.

I haven't had much trouble in adding a multi-jog leader to a text note that I have created in any version of SW.

Can you explain a little better of what you are doing?

Best Regards,
Jon

RE: Multi-jog leader

Hey.  You're right about mixing the multi-jog and normal leaders and them not lining up (both 2004 and 2005).  The attachment point that shows up does not jive with the leader.

The only way I could get it to look decent is to use 2 multi-jogs, even if one doesn't jog.

As far as adding text to a multi-jog leader, I placed an ER for this not long after the multi-jog became available.  I wish it was just a leader option within the note properties.

Fellas,
1) Create a plane piece of text (without a text leader)
2) Add a multi jog leader (select object and then the text you created, look for a yellow dot)
3) Add another multi jog leader (use the same process as above)
4) Keep adding jog leaders to your liking, add jog points, add bent leaders etc.........

All in all, if you want to use text with multiple leaders, do not use the default text leader.

Hopes this helps,

RE: Multi-jog leader

I have to ask why you are not using control to copy leaders off a note.  Create a note, turn on the leader, apply.  Select the leader, hold down control and drag the end of the leader.  You now have (2) leaders off the same note.

RE: Multi-jog leader

rockguy,
Our company design standard requires us to use bent leaders. So, when you use the default bent text leader and add a multi jog leader which is also bent, the two have different attachment points to the text. Also the text leaders does not allow you to add jog points to the leaders.

Rockguy, I do use the cntrl leader, but in some cases I (and others) need more than one point to "jog" the leader around geo, notes, dims, etc. Try the Multi-jog leader command and you'll see what I mean.

RE: Multi-jog leader

Gotcha ya.  I actually use the multi-jog leader quite often and find it works well.  I guess I missed the part about multiple bends(jogs) in the earlier posts.
