I need a truss desgin

I need a truss desgin

(OP)
I was wondering if anyone had a bridge truss design they could share that would be strong enough to hold over 30 people that spanded only 20 feet and 2 feet wide.

RE: I need a truss desgin

Consider designing it as a beam.

RE: I need a truss desgin

30 people equals 200 lbs per foot live load. use safety factor of 2. should be an easy one. use a steel H beam 2 feet wide and add a wooden floor and handrails. dead load of 30 lbs. per square ft. find a beam on a steel website and then do the connectors.

RE: I need a truss desgin

An steel H beam with a 24" flange seems an rkill for such a light loading.

RE: I need a truss desgin

Use 2 beams W10x12 which is very safe. use floor steel grating such as RECTANGULAR BAR 3/4"X1/8" RATED FOR 400 PSF FOR 2'.  EMAIL SALES@MCNICHOLS.COM
