Maybe this has been addressed before, but I get weird dots on the mirror surface of my object. I tried all different kinds of settings (indirect illumination, anti-aliasing, raytrace, anything) , but the dots keep appearing. I have no clue what this could be...:( The upper part is plain glass as material, the metal part has a mirror as material. Rendered this in PW2, modelled in SW'03, opened in SW'04.
FYI, I am two days into SW'04 and PW2, pretty amazed by the quality of PW2, but it is darn slow.
I take any suggestions...

PW2 does produce a much higher quality rendering than PW1. The high quality does come with a decrease in speed. The single biggest factors on speed in PW2 are the anti-alias settings, Indirect Illumination setting and the shadow quality settings. I start my rendering with these settings in the low position. As I work through the material application, scene and lighting adjustments I increase the settings to a higher position incrementally. I use the higher setting for the final render only.

..but, don't want sound like a whiner, but the picture got a lot duller and less interesting to look at. Especially around the legs the shadow is much lesser.
Can I admire ur render work on a webpage or other forums? I always am on the look out for nice renderings and render tips. Modelling is half the fun, the other half is to get the rendering as close as possible to the desired reality.

The indirect illumination is diminishing your shadows and things may seem dull because your moving the reflective wall surfaces of your room further from the object. The only help I can offer here is to adjust your lighting or material settings slightly to make up for the larger room size. You might also try lowering your room ceiling closer the the object.
SW2005 has also fixed this bug and lets you control the indirect illumination seperate from the room size. This allows you to lose the dots and keep the deep color reflections.
