Text color question

Text color question

Text color question

(OP)
Our legacy data comes from AutoCad. When you open an AutoCad dwg in SolidWorks, how do you change the color of the text?

I can change the layer which changes the color if it set to bylayer but we have some text that is a different color (due to plotting) on a certain layer.

I have looked through the SW properties menus and do not see where I can change that. Am I missing something easy or is it impossible to change?

I am using both SW2004 and 05 and don't seem to be able to change it in either version

Thanks for your help in advance.

RE: Text color question

I'm using SW 2001+ at work and it does not have this ability.

But when I was using SW 2004 and 05 I think if you turn on your "Font" toolbar you can change the color of the text from there.

To get there: RMB on any toolbar and select "Font" from the menu.

Best Regards,
Jon

I use the line format toolbar.  I window the items on the screen that I want to change.  Then I pick the paint brush (line color icon) on the line format toolbar.  This changes everything selected to the color you pick.

Thanks Mackman, that worked!!

jksolid, that worked but...

The font toolbar is actually formatting and I was able to change to color to anything but black. The layer is set to black but when I selected black, it remained Magenta. Not sure why but thanks for the help
