DWG Editer Default

DWG Editer Default

(OP)
Hello all

The default programme set to open all our .DWG has changed to solidworks DWG editer. In some instances this is a problem. Is there any way to change this back to volo view.
I can't use and don't have auto-cad. DWG editer closes when I try to print.

Thanks

RE: DWG Editer Default

Open Windows Explorer.
RMB click on the DWG file you want to open.
Select Open with.
Check mark the Always use the selected program to open this type of file switch.
Select Volo View or if it is not available, browse to & select, the .exe file in the Volo View Program Files folder.
Select OK.

All DWG files should then be automatically opened with Volo View, if they are doubled clicked on from within Windows Explorer.

& all the best.

Thanks.

Thats what I thought to.
Then I made a descovery.
I was updating sw to 2005 on another machine when I saw the option to change the default to dwg editer.
I must have checked the wrong box. My bad.
From windows it still goes to dwg editer, which is annoying.

We have a parts database here that has a drawing link option where you just double click on the referenced file and it opens it.

Thats the only problem I'm having.
Otherwise I am doing the right click - open with way.
Will have to re-instal sw I think.
Oh well.

Thanks for your suggestions.
