Gymanastic Ring design loads? OSHA fall restraint 2,250 lbs?
Gymanastic Ring design loads? OSHA fall restraint 2,250 lbs?
(OP)
Where would I find the correct design loads for gymnastics rings? I'm assuming that the maximum weight of the gymnast is 500 lbs. per ring, does this seem reasonable? The problem I'm having is that OSHA requires 2,250 lbs for a fall restraint. However this is not a fall restraint type of design. besides this is in an area that if the person did fall it would be only about 5 feet above the ground. Is the OSHA standard to excessive for this situation and would it apply in this situation? thanks

I second contacting the manufacturer of the system to be installed in the building. If the exact manufacturer cannot be determined at this point in the project, contact a range of manufacturers and look at their data, surely they will have some ratings and requirements.
Good luck,
