BISPO
The company I currently work for is not a model by any means but we spend about 50% on repairs and 50% on improvements.  We do zero preventive maintenance.  Predative?  Is that where you canibalize one piece of equipment to get another going.  We do alot of that too.

Good Luck

I read hydrocarbon Processing regularly , would suggest you contact Heinz Bloch , who writes a regular column on Maintenance reliability .
