LArge Diameter Pipe Dimensions

LArge Diameter Pipe Dimensions

LArge Diameter Pipe Dimensions

(OP)
more and more often I am needing dimensions of pipe, with larger diameters than 48". My immediate need is for 54" in various wall thicknesses or bore sizes, including but not limited to "STD". Any suggestions?
Thanks-
C. Fee

RE: LArge Diameter Pipe Dimensions

The most complete compilation of pipe materials and sizes that I have come across is published by Herne Data Systems

See
http://www.herne.com/nps.htm

However, when you get to these very large sizes then you are usually outside the codes and the convention is to design to an integral number of inches for the OUTSIDE diameter and to custom design the wall thickness. At these sizes you are basically designing long, narrow pressure vessels!

Well said Katmar.

Also, see this thread regarding other considerations:

RE: LArge Diameter Pipe Dimensions

ASME B36.10M-2004, Welded and Seamless Wrought Steel Pipe, covers pipe to 80 with assorted wall thickness in each size.

RE: LArge Diameter Pipe Dimensions

You can have pipe custom rolled to any diameter, any reasonably thickness.  If it is short sections, you are essentially buy a vessel.  If there is miles of it, there are pipe companies that specialize in that kind of fabrication.  AWWA has a number of standards on water piping that may apply.  Search for "penstocks" as another term, also.

What kind of help are you looking for?  Suppliers?  Dimensions?  (Ask the suppliers!)
