Good coating for fine pitch threads on 300 series s.s.?
Good coating for fine pitch threads on 300 series s.s.?
(OP)
I have a series of concentric sleeves that pilot onto one another via their OD surfaces, and then engage with a fine pitch thread. I'd like to coat the entire part, with emphasis on coating the threads to prevent gallling and also providing a hard, low friction surface for the pilot surfaces.
So far I've thought about titanium nitride or just electrolyzing the parts, any other suggestions? The threads are 1-1/2" to 2" in diameter, with 40 threads per inch. (odd size, I know, but I need that pitch)
Thanks!
