Ward-Leonard system & Schrage motors in a power plant

(OP)
I am going through the drawings of a 55MW power plant. The plant is a very old one and is due for relocation in an Indian site from its original location in France. The plant has strange (un-familiar, ofcourse interesting to me for the same reason)) configuration.

The plant has 1325kW, 3kV Schrage motors (with liquid rheostat starters) for Boiler Feed Pumps and 1987kW, 3kV Ward-Leonard system for ID/FD fans.

The 3kV auxiliary power supply system itself is unearthed system fed from auxiliary generator running on the same shaft as main generator.

Can some one share experiences of working / dealing in such a power plant / systems.
