(OP)
When I export to an iges format, Unigraphics NX2 creates another file of the same name except for the .tso extension. Is this a type of log file? I thought I saw saw someone talk about it on this forum, however I am unable to find it.

Thanks

RE: .tso extension

Try opening the file up in notepad or any other text viewer.
If it's a log file you'll be able to read it as text if not the file will be full of strange characters and it's likely not to be a log file.

RE: .tso extension

The .tso extension is for "trueshape" files. The "Open by proximity" operation uses these files to calculate the proximity of parts more accurately than by using the bounding box of the part. The generation of these files is contolled by "File-> Save Options -> Save True Shape Data".
