Monel Casting M-30H ASTM A-494

Can someone tell me if there is a similiar material in bar/rod.

RE: Monel Casting M-30H ASTM A-494

I am not familiar with ASTM A 494, but Monel alloys are produced by Special Metals.  Use the following link for more information on their wrought alloys:

What is the UNS number?
If I recall this is a cast version of Monel 400, but I can't find my spec book to double check.

UNS10001   Hastalloy B

RE: Monel Casting M-30H ASTM A-494

Hold on.  This is a different alloy.
M-30H is UNS N24030, 30% Cu, 3% Si, bal Ni.  This is a cast grade under ASTM A494.

UNS 10001 is an age hardenable Ni-Mo alloy, not a cast grade.  It is 30% Mo, bal Ni with some ageing elements added.
There are similar cast grades such as N30007, but as far as I remember they are not age hardenable.  This grade is in A494 also.

But if you look up A494 in the UNS Book it give a # UNS10001

RE: Monel Casting M-30H ASTM A-494

I don't have that volume on hand.  It shouldn't list N10001, it should have N30007 and N30012 as cast Ni-Mo alloys.
They probably dont have a common name, unless it is Alloy B.
The M-30H should be N24030 and a Ni-Cu chemistry.
If this isn't how the table reads is sounds like a editorial error.  Are you looking at the -04 version of the spec?
I'll ask around and see if I can find a copy and help you sort this out.

No, it's not the 04 copy.  The only copy we have is my bossess copy and it looks like it is a couple years old.  He advised me to use Hastaloy c276 solution an. to 60 min yield.

RE: Monel Casting M-30H ASTM A-494

Hastelloy B UNS10001 is a solution strengthened Ni base superalloy from Haynes. According to my sources, it was supplied in cast form as A 494 Gr N-12MV. Not sure if Haynes would supply Hastelloy B because they recommend Haynes 242. Here is some technical information on the alloy;
