SHOULD CONDESATE LINE BE LAREGER THEN SUPPLY?

SHOULD CONDESATE LINE BE LAREGER THEN SUPPLY?

SHOULD CONDESATE LINE BE LAREGER THEN SUPPLY?

(OP)
I have what I hope is a fairly simple question:
Should a condesate line be larger then the supply line?
I am not familiar with steam and boilers, I was told by a customer that the condesate line should be smaller then the supply line, and am curious as to hear other opinions.

RE: SHOULD CONDESATE LINE BE LAREGER THEN SUPPLY?

The condensate line can be smaller(I don't say should be because it depends upon your wallet thickness and flowrates you deal with). The specific volume of steam is much higher than that of water. That means unit mass of steam(vapor) occupies much space when compared to unit mass of water(liquid). That is why vapor lines should be larger than liquid lines.
