Bill of Materials Colors Vary When IDW Saved as DWG

Bill of Materials Colors Vary When IDW Saved as DWG

(OP)
I am a fairly new user of Inventor 8 and am converting a sister company's inventor files to dwg format for our shop.  When I save the IDW file as dwg the various components of the bill of material list show up as different colors.  When the shop goes to print these some colors will not print.  I can change the color of the offending text in AutoCAD by doing a reference edit but it is too time consuming.  Without having to change all the printer setups throughout the company is there a way to tell Inventor to make all the bom text color by layer? I had the same problem with dimensions but could easily modify the dimension style and fix all the dimensions at once. Thanks in advance!

RE: Bill of Materials Colors Vary When IDW Saved as DWG

is the text on a layer that is easy to change the colour?

Do you mean in Inventor or AutoCAD?  The crazy thing about the color change is that in one bom line only the text  for one component of the line, i.e. part description, is a different color.  It seems to be a random occurence as another bill of material line may have the quantity value as a different color.  In the Inventor IDW file everything appears as black.
