Wankel vs. piston engine torque pulses

(OP)
What are the torque pulse characteristics per revolution of a wankel vs multiple piston engine?

RE: Wankel vs. piston engine torque pulses

wankel doesn't have recip mass contributions to instantaneous torque; piston engine does.  wankel has one pulse per rotor per crank revolution, (4-stroke) piston engine has one pulse per piston per two crank revolutions.  Details of combustion harmonics will depend on port positions, etc.
