Can s'body suggest me a cheap process simulator

Can s'body suggest me a cheap process simulator

(OP)
Dear all,

I am not in an engineering company.. but we do some design review and simple process calculations..i would like to buy a simulator.. not an expensive like HYSYS..ASPEN..

I would like to know about WINSIM..

otherwise please suggest some good softwares..

Also want know some good pipe network simulators..

Is WINSIM able to do piping network..large ones..

thanks in advance..

RE: Can s'body suggest me a cheap process simulator

winsim is quite cheap compared to the other brands avaiable.

You can download a fully functional demo from their website at:

www.winsim.com

I have used it for 10 years (along with HYSYS (HYSIM) and PROII).

The only limit that i have come across is with regards to controllers. They do not work as well as HYSYS.

However its much easier to write your own functions (in FORTRAN ) and you can fairly easy gain access to the thermodynamic routines from EXCEL)

The pipeline module is better than that of HYSYS since you can specify multiple layer and drag factor and so on. As for HYSYS it cant do networks very well (you must help it along). Its not a hydraulic simulation tool as such.

Best regards
