Wait messages for Excel

(OP)
I have some VBA code which asks the user for file specific information which is used to create a workbook.

When the enter button is clicked by the user I would like a message to appear letting them know that the file is being saved. The file size plus a second form with multiple comboboxes containing 200+ entries, which opens after saving, causes a noticable delay.

I have tried a user form with the message as a lable and a simple MsgBox, both methods require a second click to allow the VBA code to continue.

How do I have a message appear at the start of the save process which will disappear when all the background code has completed its work?

VBA help repeatedly points me in the direction of the MsgBox but this method requires a click to continue the code.

A bonus to this would be a way to include an animated picture so the user can see that the computer hasn't frozen due to faulty code.

RE: Wait messages for Excel

You can create a message form of your own, and show or hide it as appropriate.
