Icing condition

Icing condition

Icing condition

(OP)
I just begin study about Icing condition for an aircraft to fly in. But I think I have to know first how nature produce snow. Any body can help me ?

RE: Icing condition

Snow is only one of several phenomenas that causes icing. Others include freezing rain and drizzle, frost, and supercooled large droblets, Snow may or may not cause icing depending on the temperature.
As far as books on subject any aviation weather (meteriology) book for pilots covers the subject, but the one I find the best is "Aircraft Icing A Pilots Guide" by Terry T. Lankford (2000)

IRstuff and aviat,

Thanks a lot for your both valuable response. Now I've got enough information to proceed with my work.
See ya.

If You have access to SAE documents, I suggest the following.

Search for documents as follows:
  Document Number(s):
    SAE AIR*
    SAE ARP*
    SAE AS*
  (and...)
  Key-Word: "icing"..

Also download several great FAA Advisory Circulars [AC's] on icing, at the following website.
 http://www.airweb.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgAdvisoryCircular.nsf/MainFrame?OpenFrameSet

>>> Search on "icing" & "winter" for additional info  [especially on weather phenomena and ground issues].

Regards, Wil Taylor
