Using the HIDE command

Using the HIDE command

(OP)
Hi all,

I'm laying out shop drawings for fabrication of some piping, using the HIDE command to get rid of the unwanted lines. Is there a way to pan and zoom while keeping the vports in the HIDE view? Evertime i have to do something in paperspace, i have to go into all the viewports, and redo the HIDE command. Thanks in advance!

I cant find how to edit a post, but one other question is, how can i keep my leaders solid filled when using the HIDE command, and also keep the center marks visible? Itried combinations of the hide setting, and system variables, but no luck. Perhaps i missed something. Thanks!

RE: Using the HIDE command

I am assuming you are drawing in 3D, right?  There is a toolbar called "shade" or "shading" which has several buttons on it, one of which is hidden.  This basically changes the view to always be hidden.  There is also some shade ones, that would show a solid color or material.
These set the view, so you can pan, zoom, etc, and still have a hidden or shaded drawing.  You should be able to set this in each viewport as well.  Warning though, it will decrease the performance of Autocad when you work in a hidden or shaded view.
