Bolts & Nuts according to ASTM A320 Gr L7

Bolts & Nuts according to ASTM A320 Gr L7

Bolts & Nuts according to ASTM A320 Gr L7

(OP)
We are designing pipe support structures, and at the moment our design criteria is minimum 27 joule impact test requirement under minus 48 C degrees for bolts and nuts.

Please find below our project requirement ,

LTCS:Bolts to ASTM A320-Gr.L7 / Nuts to ASTM A194-Gr.4 All bolts and nuts shall be Hot Dip Galvanized
SS:Bolts to ASTM A320-Gr.B8 / Nuts to ASTM A194-Gr.8

I am trying to find the equivalent DIN norm against ASTM A320 and A 194.
The A320 bolts are alloy steel bolts specifically designed for low temperature applications and are generally used for pressure vessels, valve flanges and fittings. The alloy is a chromium-molybdenum mix and the carbon content is 0.38 to 0.48 percent. The yield strength is 105 psi and the tensile strength is 125 psi. The minimum impact energy absorption is 27 joule(20 ft-lbf) at minus 101 C degrees  (-150 degrees F).
I am trying to find equivalent bolt material other than ASTM A320 Gr L7.

I would appreciate very much if someone can point out some source of
references.
Thank you

I don't have the answer to your question but I am curious as to why you need a DIN equivalent. Most European fastener manufacturers recognize and hold stocks of materials meeting the ASTM fastener standards including those needing low temperature toughness.

I have not been managed to find these specified bolts&nuts from stock at the moment, please inform if you know any stockist which can supply these bolts from stock.

Where are you located?

RE: Bolts & Nuts according to ASTM A320 Gr L7

DIN EN 10269 is an equivalent standard to ASTM A 320.  The closest grade to L7 is 42CrMo4 (1.7225).  The impact requirement for this grade is 27 J at -100 C.  You can obtain this standard directly from Beuth.

RE: Bolts & Nuts according to ASTM A320 Gr L7

Is is a fact that you cannot get the bolts
because of the spec requirement of 27 Joules
at -48 degrees Celcius.  That seems like a
lot to expect of a Stainless Steel Bolt.
