Coordinated Construction Documents

Coordinated Construction Documents

(OP)
I am interested in finding out information on correlation between coordination of construction documents and change orders during construction.  Does anyone know of any resources?

Thanks.

RE: Coordinated Construction Documents

ml13 - The majority of my practice is design & construction review, which seems to touch on your question.  Often come across situations where the Owner has to pay the bill because of errors such as this:

Mechanical Engineer shows a roof mounted HVAC unit, "forgot" to tell the Structural Engineer, Owner has to pay change order for the added design, fabrication & erection of extra roof support steel.

Here is a fairly recent article
http://www.structuremag.org/archives/2003/september/Structural%20Practices.pdf

Will look for more info & let you know what I find.

RE: Coordinated Construction Documents

Contact the NSPE (National Society of Professional Engineers) for construction documents. They are very good.

Buy a dictionary, keep it nearby and USE it. Webster's New World Dictionary of American English is recommended, and Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.
