What does ASCE7-98 say for buildings over 60 feet?

RE: wind loads

Use the "buildings of all heights" method, and take into account wind from different directions than just 2 othogonal directions.  There is a table that gives you more information.  You have to take into account torsional moment induced when the center of rigidity does not coincide with the center of force.  I'm sure there's more, you just have to get in the code and start reading.

RE: wind loads

There's a more current edition called ASCE 7-02.  You might want to get that to make sure they don't change codes while you are in the middle of the design.

RE: wind loads

ASCE also published a worked examples and a Guide to the ASCE 7-02. I think it is worth while to get.

One significant thing that I know about buildings over 60 feet tall is that you cannot use the simplified method.
